I can help you to remember your wonderful memories. All you have to do is sit back and enjoy tellingb your story to me. I’ll sort everything out and write your memoir for you, then produce it in a high quality set of books your family and friends will love.

I’m based in Richmond, North Yorkshire and will always carry out face-to-face interviews in Yorkshire and the North East, but wherever you are we can work by telephone or video calls and I have many satisfied clients from across Britain.

I’m a highly experienced interviewer and writer and have written more than 180 memoirs. Most would describe themselves as ordinary people. I set up this business in 2008 to give a voice to those who would not normally see themselves in print.

For 30 years I worked as a journalist and saw my by-line in most of the good quality national newspapers and many magazines. I was very successful and didn’t intend to stop being a journalist but the memoirs have taken over, to my great pleasure. I had tired of the celebrity culture.

Enjoy Telling Your Story

As a highly experienced memoir writer, I will take on all the hard work of writing your life story from drawing up a plan to presenting you with your books. I will guide you through every stage but you are in charge of what goes in and what doesn’t and will receive proofs of your memoir at each stage.

I can advise you on what kind of book is best for you. Payments are in stages.

Most life stories include both happy and sad experiences. If there are sensitive memories you would like to include, we will discuss the best way to present them with care and respect.

You don’t need to worry about getting dates right, this is your memoir, not a report. I have a wide knowledge of 20th century social history, asking questions that can sometimes prompt long-forgotten memories. Most people worry they will jump around in time but I’ll help you to stay on track during our interviews and produce a memoir which flows well, is a very good read and sounds like you talking.

Creating A Beautiful Book

Photographs help to bring memories to life and I will guide you through choosing the best images for your memoir. When you’re happy with the words and photographs I will design your memoir using the professional software Adobe InDesign to create a set of high quality hardbacks or paperbacks, printed by a family-run British company with more than a hundred years of experience.

A Flexible Service Built Around You

Producing a memoir takes between four and six months but I will never rush you. My prices are based on how many words we end up with, with no limit to how many hours of interviews you need, as you will find with many other ghost writers, especially the big companies. At the start I will help you to choose which kind of book is right for you. We will set a budget and I will never go over this without your permission. Payments are in five stages, set out clearly at the start.
