Costs
The Price includes:

- Writing the manuscript to a high professional standard
- Laying out the book using the Adobe InDesign top professional system
- Digitally repairing and enlarging photos
- Creating a cover, including taking new photographs where necessary
PRICE
Up to 50 paperbacks £2,300
Up to 50 hardbacks £2,500
You can order fewer but the price remains the same as this is the minimum print run for such a high quality of book. However, clients are usually surprised at how many people want a copy once word gets out. Local libraries and museums are often also eager to have them.
There are other printers who will do just one copy but my books allow you to put in as many photos as you like, both colour and black and white, where you like, so they appear in the right part of the story. The paper is high quality, just what you want for something which could become an heirloom. The boards which surround the hardback are substantial and carry the title and author on the spine. The dust jacket is in full colour. The inside of the paperbacks is exactly the same high quality, with a strong, full colour cover.
I haven’t yet found another printer offering these standards at such a reasonable price.
If you want more copies, ask me for a price.
If you have already written your memoir
I won’t re-write all your hard work but will check spelling, grammar and clarity. I will ask for extra information if I think something isn’t clear. Your story and photos will be professionally laid out and turned into a high quality book with an attractive cover.
COST
£800 for the editing and layout up to 200 pages.
Plus print costs of about £300 for 50 paperbacks, £500 for 50 hardbacks.
I can provide a quote for a longer or shorter book.
Any hand-written manuscripts can be typed into computer (approximate cost £250, depending on length)
When to Pay
Payment is in three stages.
Stage One
Our initial discussion is free and is aimed at helping you to decide what you want. Once you have made up your mind to go ahead, the first payment of £1,000 will take you through all the interviews and the writing of the memoir, right up to the stage of the first proof.
Stage Two
Once you are happy with the first proof, a second payment of £1,000 takes you through the entire design stage after which you will receive a proof of the book as it will look.
Stage Three
Once you are happy with the design proof, a third payment of £300 for paperbacks, £500 for hardbacks will send the book to print. This assumes a size of 120 pages.
Gift vouchers
What do you buy people who already have all they want? A gift voucher towards their own memoir. You decide the amount and, if you can supply some photos, I will design their own personal A4 gift voucher on high quality paper.
